Tantalus School Field Trip Policy
We acknowledge and support the Yukon Field Trip Policy.
Tantalus School will add the following conditions, pertinent to our classes and students in high school:
1. If a student misses 10 days of school per term, unexcused, they will not be going on a field trip.

Have an excellent and positive attitude toward staff and fellow students: Follow school rules.
Follow the attendance policy.
No smoking on school property. No drugs or alcohol on school property. Vandalism, violence against anyone, shoplifting, and other illegal and/or inappropriate acts will remove students from or prevent them from going on field trips.
Students come to school ready for work, and are not stoned or inebriated in any way.
Students who show up only for field trips, but have otherwise bad attendance, will not be allowed on the trip.

There will be zero tolerance for students smoking, using drugs, or using alcohol. Vandalism, violence against anyone, shoplifting, and other illegal and/or inappropriate acts will remove students from field trips.
Students will respect the teachers and other staff members and parents attending the field trip.
Students who show up only for field trips, but have otherwise bad attendance will not be allowed on the trip.
4. With regard to the REM program:
a. Teachers and principal shall go over a student’s behaviour, demeanor, and attendance to decide if a student should go to the REM. School Council will be advised of the situation, and can help to make the determination with the staff and principal.
